Calling all Disney dreamers! The iconic 1900 Park Fare breakfast at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has returned, and it’s more enchanting than ever. Our family recently had the pleasure of experiencing this newly reopened character dining experience, and let me tell you, it surpassed even our highest expectations.
While we adore Chef Mickey’s and Tusker House (both Disney character breakfast staples!), 1900 Park Fare offers a distinctly upscale twist. The buffet boasts an impressive selection of delicious dishes, many with a unique flair. Imagine starting your day with fluffy Mickey waffles or tangy guava and cream cheese danish, followed by carved ham, savory breakfast pizza, or the legendary Floridian strawberry soup (a must-try!). There’s something to satisfy every palate, from adventurous foodies to picky eaters.
But the magic truly extends beyond the food. 1900 Park Fare embraces the theme of “Wishes,” and it permeates the entire experience. Upon arrival, each guest receives a beautiful postcard-style paper to write down their wishes. Later, during a heartwarming “Wish Ceremony,” the characters – all designated as special “Wishmakers” – create a moment of pure enchantment. Let’s just say there weren’t many dry eyes around our table (adults included!).
Speaking of characters, the lineup at 1900 Park Fare is truly special. We were greeted by the delightful Mirabel from Encanto, Cinderella, and Tiana. Aladdin is typically part of the rotation, but during our visit, Snow White made a charming substitute!
The ambiance deserves a mention too. The interior has undergone a stunning refresh, with character paintings adorning the walls in a charming impressionist style reminiscent of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. And of course, the centerpiece remains the iconic Big Bertha, the massive pipe organ that once resided in Grand Rapids, Michigan! It’s a delightful piece of history that adds a touch of grandeur to the setting.
Making Magic for All: Accommodating Allergies at 1900 Park Fare
For families with dietary restrictions, 1900 Park Fare shines. Having Celiac Disease myself, I can assure you they do a fantastic job with allergies. Just like most Disney restaurants, they provide a detailed allergy guide that breaks down every buffet item. This allows you to make informed choices and enjoy a safe and delicious meal. The attentiveness of the chefs truly impressed me. Upon seeing the allergy guide, the chef at the omelette station immediately approached to offer assistance and answer any questions. They even surprised me with a plate of gluten-free Mickey waffles delivered straight from the kitchen! While there’s always a risk of cross-contamination at buffets, I’ve never had an issue at Disney restaurants. A pro-tip: snag the earliest breakfast reservation and head straight to the buffet to minimize the chance of cross-contamination. The cast members are also very vigilant in keeping the buffet area clean and organized.
